To Dispute the Accuracy or Completeness of Consumer Background Report

The Orsus Group takes the accuracy of our information very seriously. In the event you believe that the information reported on your background check is inaccurate or incomplete, you may file a dispute with The Orsus Group for free. The dispute investigation process generally may take up to 30 days, depending on the nature, scope and source of the information being disputed. The Orsus Group will investigate the specific information and/or records that you are disputing. The Orsus Group customer service representative will work with you if you need assistance identifying the specific information/records that you want to dispute.

Upon request, The Orsus Group also will provide you with a free copy of consumer report(s), which you may request by contacting Customer Service at 877-575-1476. You are entitled to such information by law. If you need assistance identifying the specific information/records that you want to dispute, it may be helpful for you to first request a free copy of background / file report(s), but it is not necessary for you to do so.

Obtain a Free Credit Report

You may request at any time a free copy of your background report previously prepared by The Orsus Group.  The Orsus Group will only have your background check report if requested by one of its client companies with whom you have applied for employment, currently employed or have volunteered.

Please contact 877-575-1476 or download and fill out Request for Copy of Consumer Report.  Once completed you may email or mail this form to Customer Service as instructed on the request form.

Your credit bureau file is not maintained by The Orsus Group. To obtain a copy of your credit bureau report, or for information regarding your credit file, including trade-line accounts such as credit cards, utility bills and bankruptcy information, please contact the national credit reporting agencies (CRAs) listed below.

If a copy of your credit report was obtained through The Orsus Group in conjunction with your application for employment we will provide you with a copy of the report that was obtained if your request is received within 60 days from the date it is obtained by us. If your credit report was obtained more than 60 days prior to your request, please contact the credit bureau(s) to obtain a current copy of your credit report.

To dispute information contained in your Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion credit reports including your credit score, please contact the credit bureau(s) directly. In accordance with the FCRA, if your credit file was obtained through The Orsus Group, you may forward your reinvestigation request to The Orsus Group Consumer Department, which will in turn be forwarded to the appropriate credit bureau(s) for reinvestigation. Please do not submit credit bureau disputes to The Orsus Group which have already been initiated through the credit bureau(s). We cannot assist you with a credit dispute if we did not access your credit file on behalf of our clients.

To receive your credit file from a national CRA, you may do one of the following:

  • Request a copy through the CRA’s automated system via the toll free numbers below.
  • Submit your request in writing to the CRA via the addresses below. Prior to submitting your request contact the CRA via the toll free phone numbers below to obtain specific information that you should include with your written request.
  • Request a copy through the agency’s website.

The three nationwide credit reporting companies have set up a central website, a toll-free telephone number, and a mailing address through which you can order your free annual report.

To order, visit www.annualcreditreport.com, call 1-877-322-8228. Or complete the Annual Credit Report Request Form found on the website and mail it to: Annual Credit Report Request Service, P.O. Box 105281, Atlanta, GA 30348-5281.

You may order your reports from each of the three nationwide credit reporting companies at the same time, or you can order your report from each of the company one at a time. The law allows you to order one free copy of your report from each of the nationwide credit reporting companies every 12 months.
